What is a Celebrant?

A Celebrant is someone who leads either religious or general ceremonies, such as a wedding or funeral. Having an independent celebrant gives more of an option as to where or when the ceremony takes place, whether it be in the place you first met, or somewhere that holds a special memory. The Ceremonies conducted by Independent Celebrants give you the opportunity to enjoy an event individually created just for you.

During the initial meeting, I will pay attention to your ideas, dreams and wishes. I offer to plan a ceremony that will give you the freedom to express your feelings in your own creativity, making the ceremony unique to you.

A fact sheet will be supplied for you to take away which should answer most of your queries about my services, most of which I hope I would have answered for you in the first meeting.

When you confirm that you would like me to act as your celebrant, I will send you paperwork electronically to complete and sign. There will be a non-refundable deposit that will need to be paid within seven days of you instructing me.

Booking

*PLEASE NOTE:  I will not take any bookings (except funerals) in the first meeting. Your booking will not be secure until the deposit payment has been received.

If deposits are not received, within the given time guideline, then your chosen date will be released for booking by another party. The full details of contract and cancellation policy will also be sent to you at this stage.

Soon after your booking is confirmed, a second meeting will be arranged to talk further about your choice of venue and ceremony in more detail. Sharing further options and idea’s myself, I can then draft a copy of your ceremony and e-mail it to you for your thoughts, additions or amendments.

A completed final copy will be sent no later than six weeks before your ceremony and this will need to be officially signed off by yourselves.

A meeting at the venue, if practical, can be arranged, and rehearsal before the day, if you wish.
